MANOEL MESSIAS MELLO
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Manoel Messias Mello from Bauru, Brazil was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of
Lions Clubs International at the association’s 104th International Convention, June 24 through
June 28, 2022.
Director Messias retired as a highly decorated colonel of the military police in 2012. He is
currently CEO of MOConsult a strategic planning and business consulting group.
He became a Lion in 1993 with a vision to help build a better world by helping all people. As a
charter member of the Bauru Bela Vista Lions Club he came to hold a number of offices within
the association including LCIF district coordinator for Campaign Sightfirst II, centennial
coordinator for district LC-8 and multiple district seminar coordinator. He has also served as
faculty at several International Leadership Development Institutes and as a keynote speaker at
more than 25 district conventions, forums and meetings.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Messias has received numerous awards
including the Global Leader in Humanitarian Service Medal from PIP Eberhard Wirfs. He is also
the recipient of multiple International President’s Awards, International President’s Leadership
Awards and International President’s Certificates of Appreciation. He is also a Progressive
Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Messias is active in numerous professional and
community organizations. He is a published author of two books and numerous papers.
Director Messias and his wife Sandra, also a member of the Bauru Bela Vista Lions Club and a
Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two sons.
