DR. SUNG-GIL JUNG
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Sung-Gil Jung from Iksan, Jeonbuk, South Korea, was elected to serve a two-year term as an
international director of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 105th International
Convention in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, July 7 through July 11, 2023.
Director Jung is a practicing dentist with nearly 40 years of professional experience. He is also a
part time clinical professor at the Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine. He is an
accomplished and well-respected prosthodontist and has published a dental implant guidebook
for patients. He looks forward to retirement and continuing his work as a missionary dentist.
He joined the Choung Woon Lions Club in 1997 and has worked to improve the lives of the
people in his community. He has held a number of offices within the association including LCIF
district coordinator.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including
multiple International President’s Certificates of Appreciation and LCIF Chairperson’s
Certificates of Appreciation. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Jung is active in numerous professional and
community organizations. He is also the recipient of a volunteer service award from the citizens
of Iksan city.
Director Jung and his wife, Yun-Kyong, were married in January 1987 and have two daughters
and a son. He and his wife, as well as one of his daughters, are all dentists. His son is currently a
student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Director Jung and his wife
enjoy playing golf and visiting with their friends every weekend.
