DANIEL MARNEY ELKINS
BOARD APPOINTEE
Daniel Elkins from Bellefonte, Delaware, USA, was appointed to serve a one-year term as a
board appointee of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 105th international convention
in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, July 7 through July 11, 2023.
Director Elkins is the director of community engagement at the Bellevue Community Center. He
has more than a decade of experience teaching young people strategic thinking and service
learning while managing federal and state substance abuse prevention grants. He is also the
cofounder of DeGenerous Dao, a Web3 technology and gaming company that uses artificial
intelligence to develop interactive brand experiences.
He became a Lion in 2017 when he joined the Bellefonte branch of the Claymont Lions Club. He
served as the charter president of the Bellefonte Lions Club in 2018 and has held a number of
offices within the association, including club secretary, zone chair, district Lions Quest chair,
global membership chair at the district and multiple district level, global marketing chair at the
district and multiple district level and multiple district information technology chair. He has also
served as district governor of the state of Delaware (22-D) in 2022-2023.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received multiple Presidential and
Leadership Medals and International President’s Certificates of Appreciation. He has been
recognized as a Second Century Ambassador for Lions Clubs International and a Humanitarian
Partner for Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). He has also been honored with the
Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members.
In addition to his Lion activities, Director Elkins is a graduate of the Public Allies AmeriCorps
Non-Profit Leadership Training Program and has his master’s degree in political science from
Marshall University. He is one of the founders of the Lions Virtual movement and an executive
producers of the LCIF Tell-A-Thon. He has presented at international conventions, USA/Canada
Forums, ANZI-Pacific Forums, ISAME Forums, Europa Forums and at district conventions
around the world.
Director Elkins and his wife, Jessica, also a Lion and a Melvin Jones Fellow, enjoy playing
music, traveling and helping mentor youth in underserved communities.
