GYE OH LEE
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Gye Oh Lee from Seoul, Republic of Korea was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of
Lions Clubs International at the association’s 104th International Convention, June 24 through
June 28, 2022.
As president of Jeil Commerce Co., Ltd., Director Lee has more than 45 years of experience in
the leather industry.
In 1993, he became a member of the Seoul Dongdo Lions Club to help improve his community
through service. He later transferred to the Seoul Seogu Lions Club where he has continuously
served since 2014. He has held a number of offices within the association including multiple
district centennial coordinator and LCIF area leader. He played a key role in the construction of
the “Speaking Lions” statue in Seoul and also donated ophthalmology equipment to the Seoul
National University Hospital.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including
multiple International President’s Awards and LCIF Chairperson Certificates of Appreciation.
Additionally, the is a two-time recipient of the Grand Order of Mugunghwa. He is also a
Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Lee is active in numerous professional and
community organizations. He has been honored with several civic awards including an
Outstanding Taxpayer Award of Seoul and an Appreciation Plaque from the Mayor of Icheon.
